Geo-Peril Score

Geo-Peril Scores are designed  to be used as one of several tools in your underwriting process, providing valuable insight into the relative risk profiles of different locations or assets.

Each score synthesizes multiple underlying metrics (e.g., avalanche, coastal flooding, cold wave, drought, etc.) to provide a concise assessment of risk that can be used comparatively across geographies and as focused as ZIP codes.

Features

For each hazard type, the associated scores generally reflect the following:

  • Higher Scores: Indicate a greater potential risk associated with geo related perils. This could be due to a higher likelihood of an event, greater potential impact (e.g., more assets exposed, higher expected losses), or a combination of such factors.

  • Lower Scores: Suggest a lower potential risk from that hazard. This may imply a lower frequency of events, less exposure, or lower anticipated losses.

All 50 states + Canada coverage are available for delivery via API or batch feeds.

Benefits
  • Scores correlate with general property risk experience.

  • Data enables automation of underwriting alerts.

  • The score is available optionally with our Lessor's Risk product or on its own for any line of business.
